Weed Death Wheat Ale

Postby Wade Williams » Thu Mar 18, 2010 8:57 am

I assume that most of you have lawns and have heard the term "Lawnmower Beer". Well, since Sharon and I are doing our landscaping ourselves, we don't have a lawn yet, but we do have weeds! So, in honor of the wretched Wit finally being drank by unsuspecting friends who drink crap beer and my spending $100 on RoundUp and $50 on pre-emergent and killing the Weedomites (yes, it is an epic struggle!) I have deemed my American wheat ale "Weed Death Wheat Ale". Here's the recipe on the brew that is soon to happen.

1.052 OG - Slightly high.
The sample tasted great!
I chilled down to 110 and then let the wort just sit (covered, of course) until it dropped to 90 degrees. It took two hours, then I transferred it to the kegmentor. It's sitting in the chest freezer until morning when I'll pitch the WLP320 starter.

I'm hoping this one turns out tasting great. I sure would like it if I could enjoy a low gravity brew!
