CVBG Library

Postby Maggie Curley » Thu Jul 09, 2009 10:05 am

I threw this idea out to Mark and he thought it worthy enough to try with the group....
I like the idea of an In-Guild Library. I think it is a great idea to buy books but maybe as an option to purchasing a book or maybe as a preview opportunity before purchase I thought it would be cool to have our own library. Part of my desire, also, is to keep new members $$ going towards equipment and grain and kegs and carboys and.......see where I'm going? Build your brew system with your moola while building your knowledge base with the in house library.
I thought that everyone can post here what literature they have and then we can contact each other through posts or PM's for lending possibilities.....maybe do book swaps at meetings???
So, here is what Steve and I have
How to Brew John Palmer
Homebrewing for Dummies
Homebrewer's Answer Book Ashton Lewis
Happy Brewing

Dang,

This is a great idea! Worth the price of admission, what ever that means in this case.

But it speaks to the spirit of our guild and it makes me love Maggie more!!! :) :!:

Anyway, let's hammer the details out on the table of one of our meetings,

Stephen

I've got two books to put into rotation:
How to Brew by Palmer
Brewing Classic Styles by Palmer and Zainasheff

I've also got a library of the Brew Your Own magazine (Thanks Mark!). I'll have to get the date I started receiving it and post those as well.
Crush, Mash, Sparge, Boil, Cool, Aerate, Pitch, Ferment, Condition, Keg, Carbonate, Chill, Drink, Repeat!

Read it. C'mon, you know you want to!

If it's any consolation Steve, It's kind of a "family" love, as in, we're all one big happy family and what-is-mine-is-yours kinda' love. . . also, not to be confused with the drunk; "I love you man" kind of love! Although, that may happen to any of us guild members at any given time, depending upon the great ales that are served up and knowing all our affinities for big O.G.s.

I'm just sayin'
